Bukit Lawang is a small village located on the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra, Indonesia. It’s known as a gateway to the jungle, particularly for Sumatran orangutan encounters. The village is situated on the Bahorok River and is easily walkable.

Itinerary

Medan – Bukit Lawang: 1 night Medan and 3 nights Bukit Lawang Full day tracking and explore the orangutan. Full day white water rafting at Wampu river.

DAY 1: MEDAN – BUKIT LAWANG
Arrival at Kuala Namo International Airport Medan drive directly to Bukit Lawang with stop at several plantations for Rubber and Palm oil. Arrival at Bukit Lawang check in to the hotel.

DAY 2: FULLDAY LEUSER NATIONAL PARK TRACKING (B,L)
Breakfast at the hotel, then start a jungle tracking to explore Leuser National Park with their flora and fauna, We have the possibility to see Orangutan on their own habitat, and other kind of animal such as Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Long tail Macaque, Gibbon, Black gibbon and other kind of flora and fauna of tropical rain forest. This is a full day tracking (will take about 06 hours), after tracking return to the hotel.
Afternoon free program at your own leisure to enjoy the nature of Bukit Lawang where you can also walk to the village around the hotel.

DAY 3: FULLDAY WHITE WATER RAFTING (B,L)
After breakfast drive by mini bus to Wampu river and on arrival at the starting point, preparing your white water rafting adventure. An excellent opportunity to see the bird and wild life, as while as enjoying the two mild rapids during the rafting.
Arrival at waterfall, we could enjoy the natural shower from the waterfall. Lunch will be provided. Afternoon, the rafting adventure iis finish , then the warm tea or coffee will be served before drive back to the hotel. Late afternoon arrive at the hotel.

DAY 4: BUKIT LAWANG – MEDAN (B)
After breakfast, free program at your own leisure..
Then drive to Medan, upon arrival in Medan, proceed by Medan city tour by visiting Great Mosque, Sultan Palace and Chinese Temple.
Check in to the hotel in Medan.

DAY 5: HOTEL – AIRPORT (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the Airport for your flight to the next destination.
